Finding the right physician can be a difficult task. From the many choices available, how do you know which physician is the right one for you. That's one of the benefits of the Desert Physician Association. We're an association of more than 300 Board Certified, multi-specialty, independent practice physicians in the East Valley of the Phoenix Metropolitan area. We serve Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Ahwatukee, Apache Junction and the surrounding areas.
What does Board Certified mean to you? Physicians who are Board Certified in their practice specialty are held to a higher standard. Higher standards mean better care. For more than 80 years the not-for-profit American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) has been committed to providing patients with the highest qualify health care by assisting their 24 Member Boards in developing and implementing uncompromising professional standards for doctors. You can trust Board Certified Doctors to take excellent care of you and your family. That’s because doctors who are Board Certified by ABMS Member Boards and participate in the ABMS Program for Maintenance of Certification program are voluntarily part of a rigorous process that continually assesses and enhances their medical knowledge, judgement, professionalism, clinical techniques and communication skills Our physician membership is comprised of Board Certified primary care (internal medicine, family practice and pediatrics) and Board Certified specialists physicians trained in all major specialty categories of medicine. These physicians have been working closely together for many years providing quality medical care to people like you, the members of our community. In addition to ABMS Board Certification, our physician members undergo credentialing and peer review by the association as well as credentialing by health plans in accordance with NCQA standards. You'll find many of our members are included on Phoenix Magazine's Best Doctors list. Our member physicians accept most HMO and PPO heath plans. In addition, our physicians are on the staff of local hospitals including Banner Desert, Baywood, Gateway Medical Centers and Banner Heart Hospital, as well as Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers, and Tempe St. Lukes Medical Center.
